Founded in 2010, the trilingual platform is used for a targeted, simple search for volunteers for sporting events and the efficient coordination of their volunteer assignments. Around 40,000 volunteers are registered with a profile. In total, more than 300 recurring and one-off sporting events have worked with Swiss Volunteers to find and coordinate their volunteers. They have thus benefited from more than 1 million volunteer hours worked. Swiss Volunteers is committed to the sustainable promotion and rewarding of volunteering, while raising public awareness of its importance. The programme is managed by the SwissTopSport association and supported by natural gas, among others.
